Virginia, USA - Wine Country, National Park & More ...
and it's beautiful with very friendly & hospitable people!

The state Tag line “Virginia is for Lovers” should not be taken too literally. Virgina, a beautiful east coast state in United States is all kinds of lovers. The alluring state of Virgina, has too much to offer for nature lovers, Wine & Beer lovers, History lovers, beach lovers... lol!!

The Shenendoah National Park is the closest National Park to the east coast Metropolitan cities. Just shy of 4-hour drive from New York City, and you will be on Shenendoah National Park’s Skyline Drive on the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The Blue Ridge Mountain range stretches from Virginia to North Carolina. You will notice in these gorgeous photos the blue haze on the mountain ranges all the way, giving the name Blue Ridge.

Shenendoah National Park may appear smaller, but the skyline drive stretches for 105 miles and has over 75 lookout points to see gorgeous vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountain ranges and the valleys are so scenic you would not miss the quaint European villages across the Atlantic.

You can just drive around stopping at the lookout points or go for hikes to the various level trails. There are four entrance gates to go in and out of park. The entrance fee is $30 for seven days per car. The amazing caverns like Luray or Shenendoah or endless caverns are within driving distance from the park.

Spring time, grass start to growing, but the high altitude cold spells freeze the water encapsulating the grass blade in ice!

The deer are very sensitive to people and vehicles. This family wanted to cross the road, we saw them from a distance so we slowed down at snails speed. Some members jumped across to the other side. Few stopped, sensing the vehicle moving ever sooooo slowly, even though quite far at safe distance. We then ame to a complete halt and only then the rest of the family ran across! Such smart and intelligent beautiful animals!

Did you know Virginia has its own wine country? Who needs to go to Tuscany or California when you can have that little piece of heaven right here on the East Coast? However, if you do fancy to go to Tuscany, click here for my picture blog on Tuscany, Italy.

There are so many wineries in Virginia with spectacular views. They are as charming and pretty as the pictures here. Some of them offer organic, fresh, farm to table dining where Vegetarian and Vegan options are available. Wine, dine and be happpppyyyyy!!

This trip, Pipin Hill Farm became our favorite winery, with FIVE STARS all the way, from wines to views, their hospitality and their friendly plus very efficient way to handle everything.
