It's a walkable city where people are friendly, food is delicious and there is no shortage of hospitality.

The Ljubljanica River is the soul of the city. The iconic Triple Bridge is located by the main square on this river. Experience the lively atmosphere of the riverside bars and cafes, where you can enjoy a drink and socialize by the water.

The main square of Ljubljana is named after the national poet, France Preseren whose statue is by the iconic pink Franciscan Church.

Ride up on a cable car especially at sunset and enjoy the vista at leisure while taking in all the history. There are small cafes up top if you want to have a coffee or a drink.

You can't say Slovenia without "LOVE"!!

Let me take you out of the city and into the countryside...Just about an hour away to begin with.

Slovenia, baby, Slovenia, as they say on Jeopardy TV show.

Nestled in the Julian Alps, Lake Bled is like a scene from a fairytale. Its crystal-clear waters mirror the towering Bled Castle and the idyllic Church of the Assumption on Bled Island. The picturesque setting is truly mesmerizing. Even if the locals say how touristy it has become, it’s so picturesque, even the clouds pose for photos.

Take a traditional wooden pletna boat to Bled Island. Visit the church, don’t forget to make a wish when you ring the bell and hope the wish-granting fairies are on duty that day 😊

The 6-kilometer easy trail offers stunning views of the lake and the surrounding Julian Alps.

While we typically favor bright and sunny days, witnessing Lake Bled in the midst of rain and clouds was truly extraordinary—a piece of heaven. The charm didn't resonate as much when revisited on a sunny day.

Don't miss indulging in a slice of Bled Cream Cake at a lakeside café. Enjoy the views, the cake and if you have a sweet tooth, or even if you don't, go for another one like I did :)

Do you think you had enough of stunning beauty after visiting lake bled? Think again, it was just the beginning...there is much more to explore. Next you would want to explore Triglav National Park—where the mountains tower, the rivers roar, and adventure calls!

Triglav NP has it all. Scenic drives through the Julian Alps, endless hiking opportunities, river rafting on crystal clear Soca River, waterfalls etc etc. to witness the natural beauty in all its glory.

Now let's mosey on over to Lake Bohinj, where tranquility whispers sweet nothings to your soul, and the mountains play a game of hide-and-seek among the clouds. This is the lake locals think is “The Lake” to visit. It’s not touristy so less commercial and few services unlike Lake Bled. Serenity here whispers in your soul. Do not miss this if time permits. But keep in mind to visit this gem, you do need to rent a car as it’s a vast area. The bus can take you to one point, that’s all.

The cable car ride to Mount Vogel brings you to the top from where you can revel in breathtaking panoramic views of the Julian Alps and Lake Bohinj.

Craving for some Seascape, then head to Piran. Not far from Ljubljana if that’s your base, you can easily do a day trip. Piran a coastal town on the Adriatic Sea, is a harmonious blend of Venetian and Slovenian cultures. Its narrow streets, historic architecture, and stunning coastline.
